Soundhouse Senior Offered Full Tuition Scholarship from Berklee

Monique Reed

Boston’s Berklee College of Music is recognized as one of the leading contemporary music colleges in the world - and also one of the most competitive when it comes to scholarships. In fact, even half-tuition scholarships are incredibly hard to come by. So it was exciting to hear that our very own MONIQUE REID was offered a FULL-TUITION SCHOLARSHIP to the prestigious school! This offer comes in addition to the full-tuition scholarship offer she already received from Connecticut’s Hartt School of Music, another nationally-ranked program. Decisions, decisions...

While it is shocking to hear of anyone getting an offer of this type from Berklee, what’s not surprising is that it would go to Monique. In her years at the Soundhouse not only has she been a featured soloist, but she has also had the opportunity to work with some of the biggest names in music today including members of The Killers, the Dave Matthews Band, The Flecktones, Tower of Power, and more! She is the only musician under 18 invited this year to be one of our Soundhouse Associate Producers. Monique also currently holds the lead alto chair in the award-winning Crescent Super Band and serves as section leader for the group.

Soundhouse founder, Caleb Chapman, had this to say about Monique, “We are so proud that Monique was recognized with this well-deserved honor. She has worked so hard in her years at the Soundhouse and we certainly will miss her after graduation, but it’s going to be incredibly exciting to watch her career unfold!"
