A: YES! We accept musicians of all experience levels, from beginning to advanced. We do ask that musicians have a minimum of 6 months experience and basic competence on the instrument for the best experience.
-
A: Each Soundhouse band focuses on a specific style of contemporary music. And with over 20 bands, there is something for every taste – rock, R&B, jazz, alternative, Latin, ska, reggae, metal, and more!
-
A: Band members are always welcome to bring in original music in the specific style of their band. The band Producer may decide to include an original in a performance, but the focus of the Soundhouse experience is, first and foremost, to master the songs that became hits. We do encourage our members to form groups on their own outside of Soundhouse to really develop their original material.
-
A: We have spots in Soundhouse bands for vocals, guitar, bass, drums, piano/keyboard, saxophone, trumpet, and trombone. We also have a limited number of spots for specialized instruments like tuba, mandolin, banjo, ukulele, and fiddle.
-
A: Each musician joining a Soundhouse band needs to provide their own instrument for all rehearsals, performances, and practice at home. The one exception to this is that larger gear is provided at our rehearsal studio for convenience. This includes drums, keyboards, acoustic bass, and guitar and bass amps.

A: Each Soundhouse band rehearses once a week for 2 hours through most of the season. There are other occasional activities scheduled throughout the year including performances, masterclasses, social events, and recording sessions, but we are sensitive to the busy schedules the majority of our musicians have.

A: Yes, we offer financial aid to families in need through the Sound Support Foundation. Please contact us at info@ccsoundhouse.com for detailed information on how to apply. Also, we keep our weekly time commitments such that members can have a part time job to help cover expenses, and we encourage them to do that.
-
A: We are absolutely positive your time at the Soundhouse will be nothing short of lifechanging. But if for any reason you aren’t blown away by your experience in the first 30 days, 100% of your band and tour fees will be returned to you with no questions asked.
-
A: Band members are committed for the duration of the performance season. In the case of extenuating circumstances (for example medical, a move, family emergency, etc.), the musician is responsible for all fees until a qualified replacement can be found. While we will do our best to assist in finding a replacement, it ultimately remains the responsibility of the member.
-
A: Tour destinations change yearly and vary from band to band. In the past, destinations in the US have included New York, Boston, Seattle, Los Angeles, Dallas, Atlanta, New Orleans, and more. International destinations have included China, France, Italy, Mexico, Switzerland, Germany, Cuba, the UK, Canada, Croatia, and The Netherlands, among others.

A: Tours are once-in-a-lifetime opportunities for our members to perform in amazing venues across the country and even around the world! Our expert travel team handles all the planning and coordinates transportation, lodging, activities, and performances. Our trained tour staff accompany each band and safety is our number one priority. If an individual is a member of a Soundhouse band with a scheduled tour, then tour participation is required. However, not all Soundhouse bands will have a scheduled tour.

There are several unique aspects to the Soundhouse experience:
1. Most music training programs focus exclusively on music skills. While these skills are central to our program, we also train our members on critical PERFORMANCE skills.
2. Soundhouse members have opportunities to work with top tier artists. In the past this has included members of some of the most popular bands in history and many GRAMMY-winning masters of their craft.
3. Soundhouse band performances are typically held at top-tier venues with professional sound and lighting production for large audiences – an experience most young musicians may never get otherwise.
4. Since our program began in 1998 virtually every graduate has received college scholarship offers.
5. Soundhouse is the most award-winning youth music program in the nation with well over 100 international awards and recognitions.
6. Many music programs have the end goal of producing professional musicians. While those in our program certainly are prepared for that path if they choose, our focus is to use excellence in music performance to foster excellence in LIFE performance!
