John Beasley

John Beasley is a five-time GRAMMY-nominated and Emmy Award-winning pianist, composer, and producer. He backed jazz icons like Miles Davis, Freddie Hubbard, Dianne Reeves, John Patitucci, and Christian McBride, and he has also shared the stage with Chaka Khan, Carly Simon, and James Brown. His extensive work as a composer-arranger includes Star Trek: The Next Generation and Fame and in films scored by 15-time Oscar nominee Thomas Newman on blockbuster movies 1917, James Bond's Spectre and Skyfall, Finding Nemo, Finding Dory, Wall E, and Shawshank Redemption.

Beasley first gained his experience as music director (MD) with Sergio Mendes at the start of his career. Since then, he has directed tours for Queen Latifah, Steely Dan (Art Crimes), A.R. Rahman (Jai Ho), along with tribute concerts for Kenny Burrell, Billy Higgins, and the Hancock Institute's competition gala tributes to Quincy Jones, Bill Clinton, Aretha Franklin, Terrence Blanchard, Dee Dee Bridgewater, and Wayne Shorter. He worked as MD for various TV specials/series, including Sports Illustrated 50 Years of Beautiful and musical competitions Duets with John Legend, Sing Your Face Off, and American Idol (ushering Carrie Underwood to victory), among other shows.
