The school educator’s guide

to the Soundhouse

Where music comes to life.

Improve your ensembles and give students more performance experience by inviting them to sign up for a local Soundhouse band! Your school will earn $100 in professional development donation support for each student who enrolls.

Unlike any other after-school program, Caleb Chapman’s Soundhouse supplements your students’ school music education as they learn, perform, record, tour, and experience music at the highest level in a Soundhouse band. Along the way, they dramatically improve their school ensembles through leadership and musical contributions while developing critical life skills, including:

  • Creativity

  • Self-discipline

  • Problem-solving

  • Networking

  • Leadership

  • Entrepreneurship

  • Teamwork

  • Self-confidence

  • Prioritization

  • Marketing

  • Interpersonal skills

  • Time Management

The Soundhouse provides an opportunity to play with other serious musicians after school where students can hone their skills not just in music but as performers and leaders. The results speak for themselves: since 2005, the Soundhouse bands have collectively won over 85 Downbeat Awards, a prestigious recognition of the top groups and soloists in the country.

You will never need to worry about the Soundhouse competing with your program. All participants are required to participate in their school ensembles when available — and school music commitments always take priority over Soundhouse events!
