Karl Hunter is a multi-instrumentalist, studio musician, clinician, and educator. He is best known as the saxophone soloist with the multi-platinum selling, GRAMMY-nominated swing band Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, of which he has been a member for 23 years. After touring for more than two and a half decades, Karl has performed for four US presidents and played in all 50 US states and 20 different countries. As of January of 2020, the band has played over 3,000 shows, including orchestral concerts with 36 symphony orchestras. Karl has recorded 10 studio albums with Big Bad Voodoo Daddy that have cumulatively sold over 3 million copies. Other highlights of Big Bad Voodoo Daddy's eclectic career include playing the 1999 XXXIII Super Bowl Halftime Show and even appearing as animated versions of themselves in an episode of Scooby-Doo.

Karl has also performed or recorded with many music legends, including Stevie Wonder, Gloria Estefan, Garth Brooks, Dr. Dre, Joey McIntyre, EnVogue, Little Richard, B.B King, Simon Philips, and Solomon Burke, to name a few. Karl is a Yamaha Performing Artist and clinician.
