Louis studied trombone performance at Brigham Young University, the University of Utah and privately from many great musicians. He has lived and worked as a musician in Salt Lake City, Tokyo, Las Vegas, and Honolulu. He’s versatile on all low brass instruments and genres as he performs on tenor, bass trombone and tuba with groups as diverse as the Utah Symphony and the Joe Muscolino Band. Louis has been busy doing live engagements and studio sessions for three decades and performed on several national and international tours.
Louis loves “Broadway” as is shown by his resume of more than 120 shows such as 100 performances of Wicked and Les Miserable. Other shows include The Lion King, Beauty and the Beast and Chicago. He’s had the honor to back Greats such as Natalie Cole, Barry Manilow, Ray Charles, Kenny Rogers, Johnny Mathis, Donny and Marie Osmond, The Temptations, Sissel, Brian Stokes Mitchell, Maureen McGovern, Marylin McCoo, Doc Severinsen, Alex Boye, Eric Miyashiro, Phil Woods, Carl Fontana and Bill Watrous and countless others. He won the bass trombone position with the Orchestra at Temple Square in 1999 and continues enjoying performing with them.
Louis maintains a very successful private teaching studio and is thrilled to have many former students become outstanding professionals.
