Matt has been teaching and performing in the Denver Area for seventeen years. He received his degree from DU’s Lamont School of Music in Jazz Studies in 2001 and is versed in nearly any style include classical, jazz, latin, reggae, pop, rock, and gospel. He plays saxophone, flute, clarinet, piano, keyboards, organ and works with Ableton live and other music software in both the studio and in live performances. He is currently the Director of Instrumental Music at Alexander Dawson School in Lafayette, CO and has been teaching private lessons since 1998. He has been adjunct faculty at Kent Denver School as well as the Director of the Academy of the Arts at More Than Music. He writes, arranges and performs for and with numerous Denver area ensembles and has performed with the Greyboy Allstars, Karl Denson, Fred Wesley, The Delphonics and the Denver Brass and shared the stage with Ozomatli, Maria Schneider, The Blind Boys of Alabama, Oro Solido, Culture and Galactic. He has travelled across America as well as to Russia and Thailand to perform and teach music.
